Our
Story

Founded in the U.S., operating worldwide

The Uganda e-Nable Coalition was formed to solve a problem: the lack of support for Ugandans who have lost upper-limbs.

Robotics team 6165 MSET Cuttlefish, alongside volunteers world-wide, has partnered with the charity World Action Fund in Uganda to tackle this issue head-on.

About the Co-Founder

6165 MSET Cuttlefish is a competitive FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics team based in Saratoga, California that has qualified for the World Championships in Houston four times. The team is known for its innovative engineering, strong teamwork, and commitment to STEM outreach. Each season, they design, build, and program a robot to compete in FTC challenges, emphasizing problem-solving and collaboration. Beyond competition, MSET Cuttlefish actively engages in community service, hosting STEM events like SMASH: STEM Madness at Saratoga High to promote sustainability and engineering. This season, the team has built a fully customized robot and qualified for Worlds as the Finalist Alliance Captain.

Jon Schull

CEO of e-NABLE

"And you remind me that it really is possible that a global network of volunteers can, in fact, make a real difference and fill the gaps that governments and businesses and enterprises fail to do."

Peter Odama

Chief Executive of World Action Fund

"The [MSET Cuttlefish] team are driving innovation in design while also valuing our contribution to feedback. This approach increases our chances of achieving a greater impact, particularly for African communities and other regions, though currently we are all facing limited resource constraints."

"This arm is not just plastic and metal it is freedom. I can feed my animals, I can write my name, and I can work again. I never thought this would be possible."

Donations

While the prosthetic limbs are donated and shipped by volunteers like us for free, the World Action Fund must pay for doctors to travel to the patients, take measurements, and transport and fit the prosthetics. WAF's extensive travel across all major regions in Uganda has necessitated a budget of $35,000 to complete the project.

Through generous donors, we have raised over 34% of our goal so far. But we still have over $20,000 to go.

Please consider donating to support our cause: every little helps.
